Driveway
shall be defined as the connection from public or private property to public streets or alleys for ingress/egress by vehicles.
Minimum spacing
shall be defined as the distance between two (2) driveways measured along the right-of-way line of any given property.
Radius
shall be defined as the circular limit of a driveway having a common tangent point with the street, existing or proposed curb line.
Width
shall be defined as the width of the driveway at the right-of-way.
Public parkway
shall be defined as that section of public right-of-way between the curb and right-of-way line.
(A) 
No person, firm or corporation shall construct, reconstruct, maintain, alter or repair, remove or replace any curb, gutter, driveway or other concrete work on any public property within the City without first obtaining all applicable permits, including but not limited to a Right-of-Way Permit, and a Sidewalk and Driveway Approach Permit. No work shall be undertaken on City right-of-way until the executed permit has been approved by City.

There shall be no residential driveways permitted off of any arterial street as so designated by the City thoroughfare map as type A, B, or C thoroughfares.

(A) 
For the construction of a new (or modification of an existing) driveway there shall, in addition to any other applicable permit(s) and fee(s), be a permit fee charge as set forth in Section 30.301, chapter 30, “Building Inspection,” of this Code.
(B) 
The contractor will be held responsible for conducting the construction in an orderly and safe manner. Proper barricades as specified in the manual on uniform traffic control devices, shall be used. The City’s Director of Transportation, or his appointee, shall determine if proper barricading and signing is utilized.

Driveway approach standards must conform to the applicable provisions set forth in the City’s Technical Standards Manual.
