(A)
Article
1269m of Vernon’s Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, entitled
“Firemen’s and Policemen’s Civil Service,”
shall become effective and applicable to the City on the fifteenth
day of October, 1958.
(B)
Appointments
to the position of Assistant Director of Police shall be made by the
Director of Police in accordance with Texas Local Government Code,
chapter 143, of the state. All other appointments to the classified
service of the Police Department shall be based on competitive examinations
held in accordance with said Texas Local Government Code, chapter
143.
(C)
Appointments
to the position of Assistant Chief of the Fire Department shall be
made by the Fire Chief in accordance with Texas Local Government Code,
chapter 143, of the state. All other appointments to the classified
service of the Fire Department shall be based on competitive examinations
held in accordance with said Texas Local Government Code, chapter
143.
