(A)
Policy.
It is in the public’s best interest to coordinate and regulate the placement of public and private utilities in the public right-of-way and in easements on private property. Such regulations and coordination shall be managed under the general guidelines of this Section 3.72.
(B)
Requirements.
(1)
Alleys
shall be the preferred location for franchised utility extensions;
however, if no alley is provided, a ten-foot utility easement (or
other size as determined by the Director of Engineering) shall be
provided adjacent to the street rights-of-way.
(2)
Any
off-site easements that are necessary to fulfill City requirements
or are required by the City shall be dedicated to the City by separate
instrument and reflected on the plat (including recordation number)
before consideration of the plat by the Plan Commission.
