[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General
Provisions, Art. I)]
A. Pursuant to the provisions of the
Uniform Shared Services and Consolidation Act, New Jersey Laws of
2007, Chapter 63, as amended, N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1 et seq., the Township
is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with any municipality,
county, school district, or regional authority or district other than
an interstate authority or district, individually or in combination
thereof, for the joint provision within their several jurisdictions
of any service which any party to such agreement is empowered to render
within its own jurisdiction.
B. Pursuant to the provisions of the Regional Efficiency Aid Program Act, New Jersey Laws of 1999, Chapter
61, as amended, N.J.S.A. 54:4-8.76 et seq., the Township is authorized to apply for state grants-in-aid to provide any or all of the following services jointly with any other municipality, county, school district, or regional authority or district other than in interstate authority or district, individually or in combination thereof:
(1) Joint assessment and collection
of taxes;
(2) Joint maintenance of municipal
records and statistics and electronic data processing;
(3) Joint building, housing and
plumbing code inspection and enforcement;
(4) Joint solid waste collection
and disposal;
(5) Joint air pollution control
inspection and enforcement;
(6) Joint welfare and social service
programs;
(7) Joint maintenance and administration
of parks and recreational and cultural facilities;
(8) Joint maintenance of roads,
public works and beaches;
(10) Consolidation of municipal
police forces;
The proper Township officials are authorized and empowered to
execute on behalf of the Township all such intergovernmental contracts
as may be authorized herein and approved by ordinance or resolution
of the Township Committee.
