The Police Advisory Commission (hereafter "Commission") is created
and provided for pursuant to Sections 6.02 and 6.05 of the City of
Las Vegas Municipal Charter, with such Commission consisting of five
members as appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council
("City Council"). The Mayor, members of the City Council, or others
as appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council, may serve
as ex officio members of the Commission. Any member of the Commission
may be removed at any time, for any reason, or no reason at all, by
the Mayor upon a majority vote of the City Council, or simply upon
the majority vote of the City Council.
The Commission exists strictly in an advisory capacity, to review
information as specifically and expressly directed by the Governing
Body regarding crime in the City and general activities regarding
crime and the enforcement of law.
