The election district boundaries shall be as
follows:
A. East Ward. The First Election District in the East Ward of the City
of Salem shall include all of the territory and inhabitants thereof
contained, in an area which is bounded and described as follows:
(1) Beginning at a point where the physical center line of Grant Street
(County Route 657) is intersected by the center line of Keasbey's
Creek (a waterway), which is also the City of Salem and Township of
Mannington, Salem County shared border;
(2) Thence, northwesterly, following along the physical center line of
Grant Street (County Route 657), to a point where said boundary intersects
the physical center line of Ninth Street;
(3) Thence, southwest, following along the physical center line of Ninth
Street, to a point where said boundary is intersected by the physical
center line of East Broadway (NJ State Route 49);
(4) Thence, northwest, following along the physical center line of East
Broadway (NJ State Route 49), to a point where said boundary intersects
with a point on the physical center line of Eakin Street;
(5) Continue, southwesterly, following along the physical center line
of Eakin Street, crossing over the physical center line of Sinnickson
Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with a point on
the physical center line of Smith Street;
(6) Thence, northwest, following along the physical center line of Smith
Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with a point on
the physical center line of Walnut Street (County Route 665);
(7) Proceed, southwest, following along the physical center line of Walnut
Street (County Route 665), to a point where said boundary intersects
with a point on the physical center line of Grieves Parkway (private);
(8) Thence, northwest, following along the physical center line of Grieves
Parkway (private), crossing over the physical center line of Chestnut
Street (County Route 625), to a point where said boundary intersects
with a point on the physical center line of Oak Street;
(9) Thence, southwest, following along the physical center line of Oak
Street, which transitions into the physical center line of Chestnut
Street (County Route 625), to a point where said boundary intersects
with a point on the City of Salem and Township of Elsinboro, Salem
County shared border;
(10) Thence, southerly then easterly, various courses, following along
the City of Salem and Township of Elsinboro, Salem County, shared
border, crossing over the physical center line of Walnut Street (County
Route 665) then crossing over the physical center line of Yorke Street
(County Route 658), to a point where said boundary intersects with
a point on the City of Salem, the Township of Lower Alloways Creek
and the Township of Quinton, Salem County shared border;
(11) Thence, easterly, various courses, following along the City of Salem
and Township of Quinton, Salem County, shared border, to a point where
said boundary intersects with a point on the center line of Keasbey's
Creek (a waterway), which is also another point on the City of Salem
and Township of Quinton, Salem County shared border;
(12) Thence, northerly, various courses, following along the center line
of Keasbey's Creek (a waterway), which is also the City of Salem
and Township of Quinton, Salem County shared border; crossing over
the physical center line of East Broadway (NJ State Route 49), to
a point where said boundary intersects with a point on the City of
Salem and the Township of Mannington, Salem County shared border;
(13) Thence, northeasterly, various courses, following along the center
line of Keasbey's Creek (a waterway), which is also the City
of Salem and Township of Mannington, Salem County shared border, to
a point where said boundary intersects with a point on the physical
center line of Grant Street (County Route 657), which is also another
point on the City of Salem and Township of Mannington, Salem County
shared border and also the point of beginning.
B. West Ward. The First Election District in the West Ward of the City
of Salem shall include all of the territory and inhabitants thereof
contained, in an area which is bounded and described as follows:
(1) Beginning at a point where the physical center line of Grant Street
(County Route 657) is intersected by the center line of Keasbey's
Creek (a waterway), which is also the City of Salem and Township of
Mannington, Salem County shared border;
(2) Thence, northwesterly, various courses, following along the center
line of Keasbey's Creek (a waterway), which transitions into
the center line of the Fenwick Creek (a waterway) and is also the
City of Salem and Township of Mannington, Salem County shared border,
crossing over the physical center line of Market Street (NJ State
Route 45), to a point where said boundary intersects with the center
line of the Salem River (a waterway), which is also a point on the
City of Salem and Township of Pennsville, Salem County shared border;
(3) Continue, southwesterly then northwesterly then southwesterly, various
courses, following along the center line of the Salem River (a waterway),
which is also the City of Salem and Township of Pennsville, Salem
County shared border, to a point where said boundary intersects with
a point on the City of Salem and Township of Elsinboro, Salem County
shared border;
(4) Proceed, southeasterly then southerly, various courses, following
along the City of Salem and Township of Elsinboro, Salem County shared
border, crossing over the physical center line of Tilbury Road (County
Route 661), to a point where said boundary intersects with a point
on the physical center line of Chestnut Street (County Route 625);
(5) Thence, northeast, following along the physical center line of Chestnut
Street (County Route 625), which transitions into the physical center
line of Oak Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with
the physical center line of Grieves Parkway (private);
(6) Thence, southeast, following along the physical center line of Grieves
Parkway (Private), crossing over the physical center line of Chestnut
Street (County Route 625), to a point where said boundary intersects
with the physical center line of Walnut Street (County Route 665);
(7) Thence, northeast, following along the physical center line of Walnut
Street (County Route 665), to a point where said boundary intersects
with the physical center line of Smith Street;
(8) Thence, southeast, following along the physical center line of Smith
Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with the physical
center line of Eakin Street;
(9) Thence, northeasterly, following along the physical center line of
Eakin Street, crossing over the physical center line of Sinnickson
Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with the physical
center line of East Broadway (NJ State Route 49);
(10) Thence, southeast, following along the physical center line of East
Broadway (NJ State Route 49), to a point where said boundary intersects
with the physical center line of Ninth Street;
(11) Thence, northeast, following along the physical center line of Ninth
Street, to a point where said boundary intersects with the physical
center line of Grant Street (County Route 657);
(12) Thence, southeasterly, following along the physical center line of
Grant Street (County Route 657), to a point where said boundary intersects
with the center line of Keasbey's Creek (a waterway), which is
also the City of Salem and Township of Mannington, Salem County shared
border, and is also the point of beginning.
