CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TULIA, TEXAS[1]
PREAMBLE
We, the people of the City of Tulia, exercising the powers of home rule granted to us by the Constitution and general laws of the State of Texas, in order to provide for more efficient, adequate, and economical government, do hereby ordain, adopt, and establish this Charter of the City of Tulia, Texas.

Editor’s note–Printed herein is the charter of the City of Tulia, Texas, which was adopted at an election held on November 28, 1972. Apart from minor nonsubstantive changes in style and formatting, the charter is reproduced as it appeared in the 2004 Code of Ordinances. Capitalization, punctuation and grammar have been retained. Obviously misspelled words have been corrected without notation. Material enclosed in brackets has been added for clarification.
