1. The parks, playgrounds, community room, recreational facilities and/or
recreational areas owned and operated by the Township of South Hanover
(hereinafter "park, playground, community room, recreational facilities
and/or recreational areas") and the various programs conducted by
the Township of South Hanover Parks and Recreation Department (hereinafter
"Parks and Recreation Department") on or in those facilities shall
be governed by the regulations below.
2. The purpose of these regulations is to insure, to the greatest extent
possible, the provision of parks, recreational areas, and recreational
programs to the residents of the Township of South Hanover and other
users is a safe, secure, environmentally responsible, and wholesome
environment.

1. Any park, playground, outdoor recreational facility and/or recreational
area shall be available for public use only from sunrise to sunset
unless other hours are posted by the Township of South Hanover Board
of Supervisors.
2. The indoor recreational facilities shall be available for public
use from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., unless otherwise approved by
the Township of South Hanover Board of Supervisors.
3. If any outdoor park, playground, recreational facility and/or recreational
area is equipped with proper and authorized lighting equipment, the
Township of South Hanover Board of Supervisors shall establish permitted
hours for the use of such facility.
4. All persons
entering in or upon any park, playground, community room, recreational
facility and/or recreational area during the hours when the facility
is not open according to the times set forth herein or permitted by
the Township of South Hanover Board of Supervisors shall be considered
trespassers and may be prosecuted as such.

1. The following acts are not permitted by any person on or within any
park, playground, community room, recreational facility and/or recreational
area or when attending programs sponsored by the Township of South
Hanover Parks and Recreation Board unless specifically permitted in
writing by the Township of South Hanover Parks and Recreation Board.
A. Committing any disorderly, destructive, or immoral act, or taking
any action that may risk bodily injury to any person.
B. Bringing or consuming any alcoholic beverages onto such facility
without first obtaining permission from the Township of South Hanover
Board of Supervisors and a permit from the Township of South Hanover.
C. Bringing any controlled substances onto such facility, being intoxicated
or under the influence of controlled substances or possessing controlled
substances other than medication prescribed by a physician for medical
treatment of the person in possession of the same.
D. Use of tobacco in any form, including without limitation, smoking,
vaping, smokeless tobacco, and any other form of e-cigarettes within
any park, playground, recreational facility, or Township of South
Hanover property. All parks shall be posted as smoke-free areas, including
medical marijuana.
E. Gambling, soliciting, or selling of any kind, except for authorized
concessions and farmer's markets.
F. Throwing or discarding upon any roadway, park, playground, or recreational
area, paper, bottles, cans, or debris of any nature or in any other
way littering the premises, including damaging or tampering with trash
or recycling receptacles.
G. Creating, or maintaining any open fire and/or building fire, or using
charcoal grills of any type, except as otherwise permitted in areas
specifically designated for that purpose.
H. Camping or sleeping anywhere on Township of South Hanover Property.
I. Hunting, trapping, or removing wild game of any kind from the Township
of South Hanover Property.
K. Carrying without a license to carry a firearm or discharging firearms,
air rifles, air pistols, BB guns, fireworks, slingshots, bows and
arrows or any other deadly weapon on the premises or off the premises
in such a way as to endanger the safety of any person or property.
L. Use of any equipment to either amplify voice, music, or any other
sound except that personal radios or a musical instrument may be used,
if the volume is kept at a reasonable level unless otherwise permitted
by the Township of South Hanover.
M. Use of profane or vulgar language, and/or boisterous, immoral, or
indecent conduct.
N. Washing, waxing, repairing or in any other way servicing a motor
vehicle.
O. Violating the rules or regulations relating to the use of any building
or place on the premises.
P. Defacing, injuring or destroying any notice posted by order of the
Township of South Hanover Board of Supervisors.

1. All cars, motorcycles or other motorized vehicles shall be operated
only in areas designated as driveways or parking areas. No vehicles
are permitted on turf or field areas.
2. A dog/pet owner or keeper must immediately collect and dispose of
all feces deposited by any dog/pet owned or under his/her control
on any park, playground, recreational facility, or Township of South
Hanover property. Said owner or keeper shall dispose of feces in a
sanitary manner.
3. A dog/pet owner or keeper shall at all times properly restrain or
leash any dog/pet under his/her control on a park, playground, recreational
facility, or Township of South Hanover property.
4. Any person using a park, playground, recreational facility, or Township
of South Hanover property must place any trash and approved recyclable
materials in the provided South Hanover Township recycling and trash
receptacles.

1. Township
of South Hanover employees shall have the authority to give direction
to the public and to enforce the provisions of this article.
2. Any person,
firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this article
shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not
more than $600 per occurrence, plus costs and, in default of payment,
to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days.
