The city council may, after a public hearing,
issue a permit to allow electric wiring or fences; provided, that
the wiring or fence is separated from any public right-of-way or property
line by a nonelectric fence at least four feet in height; that signs
are posted on the electric wiring or fence not less than every one
hundred feet reading, “WARNING — ELECTRIFIED FENCE!”
in both English and Spanish; and that no portion of the electrified
wiring or fence is any closer than two thousand five hundred feet
from any property zoned or used for residential purposes or any school.
