There shall be in the County a Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, who shall be appointed by the County Executive and shall be under the supervision of the County Executive.

The Clerk shall act as secretary to the Board and take the minutes and correspondence thereof. The Clerk shall perform all the acts required of him or her by this chapter, or as required by general law to be performed by the County Clerk as Ex Officio Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, or as directed by the Board. Subject to provisions of the Charter and County ordinances, the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors shall have power to appoint, suspend or remove all assistants, deputies, clerks and other employees necessary to conduct the work of the Department.

The Clerk shall receive, on behalf of the Board, any and all petitions, applications and requests for the consideration of the Board, and shall file them for the Board and process them for errors.

The Clerk shall prepare the Board of Supervisors' agenda, assemble reports and such other annexes as may be on file for any cause on the agenda, and have them available for all members of the Board at its meeting.

The Clerk shall record the vote of the Board of Supervisors and issue certifications of such vote, order, resolution or act of the Board by affixing his or her signature and the seal of the Board of Supervisors upon the request of any party.

The compensation of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors shall be fixed by the Board of Supervisors in the same manner and at the same time as the compensation for all other officers and employees of the County.
