The provisions of Article 8.7 (commencing with Section 31695.1), Chapter 3, Part 3, Division 4, Title
3, of the
Government Code shall be applicable in the County.

The County coroner and deputy County coroners are eligible for
membership in accordance with Section 31470.9 of the
Government Code.

Retirement allowances of safety members retiring on or after
January 1, 1971, shall be computed in accordance with subdivision
(a) of Section 31808.6 of the
Government Code.

Retirement allowances of safety members shall be computed in
accordance with Section 31664, rather than subdivision (a) of Section
31808.6, of the
Government Code, whenever all necessary steps to withdraw
the safety members from coverage under the old age and survivors insurance
provisions of the Social Security Act have been accomplished and such
fact is confirmed by the County Executive and County employees' retirement
board.

Any deficit which occurs as a result of the adoption of the
safety member provisions of the County Employees' Retirement Law of
1937 shall be funded over a period of thirty years as provided by
Section 31454.5 of the
Government Code.
