All Village elections shall be held and conducted in accordance with Chs. 5 through 12, Wis. Stats.
Pursuant to § 6.78, Wis. Stats., the poll hours for all elections in the Village of Merton shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There shall be four wards in the Village of Merton.
All elections shall be held at the Merton Village Hall or such other accessible building as determined by the Village Clerk.
A. 
Composition. The municipal Board of Absentee Ballot Canvassers shall be composed of the Municipal Clerk, or a qualified elector of the municipality designated by the Clerk, and two other qualified electors of the municipality appointed by the Clerk. The members of the Board of Absentee Ballot Canvassers shall serve for a two-year term commencing on January 1 of each odd-numbered year.
B. 
Canvassing of absentee ballots. In lieu of canvassing absentee ballots at polling places under § 6.88, Wis. Stats., the Board of Absentee Ballot Canvassers shall, at each election held in the Village, canvass all absentee ballots received by the Municipal Clerk by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
C. 
At every election held in the Village, the Board of Absentee Ballot Canvassers shall, any time after the opening of the polls, publicly convene to count the absentee ballots for the Village. The Village Clerk shall give at least 48 hours' notice of any meeting under this subsection.

The Village Board of the Village of Merton, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, has the specific authority under § 7.30(1), Wis. Stats., to adopt this article.
This article, adopted by a majority of the Village Board on a vote with a quorum present and voting and proper notice having been given, provides for the selection of two (or more) sets of officials to work at different times on each election day as follows: There shall be split shifts for election officials on all election days. Such shifts shall be determined by the Clerk to be necessary to meet election officials' schedules and election day demands.
This article shall take effect and be in full force from and after passage and posting.
