[Adopted 3-3-1978 (Ch. 25, Art. XXXIV, of the 1974 Code)]
There is hereby created the position of Senior Tax Clerk in the Tax Collector's office in the Township of Lacey.
The Senior Tax Clerk, under direction, shall perform responsible and varied clerical work involved in the posting and maintaining of tax payments and other related work as required. Examples of the type of work to be performed by the Senior Tax Clerk are as follows:
A. 
Obtaining the assessment on properties from tax lists and posting current payments of real estate and personal taxes, tax arrear payments, searches and continuation searches.
B. 
Compiling a list of overpayments of tax collections and sending out current tax notices, tax arrear notices on delinquent accounts and tax sale notices.
C. 
Helping in the preparation of the tax sale records.
D. 
Assisting taxpayers who call at the office of the Tax Collector and handling requests for information.
E. 
When so directed, maintaining classifieds, indexes and cross-references, various tax records and files.
The annual salary for the position of Senior Tax Clerk shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
