No building, structure or other object having
a width of more than 12 feet shall be moved or transported into, upon
or across any public street in the Village of Southampton unless a
permit has been previously granted for such moving or transportation
by the Board of Trustees, signed by the Mayor or other official of
the Village designated by him for that purpose. Such permit shall
be issued upon payment of a fee of $10 to the Village Clerk and upon
filing with the Village Clerk an application therefor in writing containing
a description of the size and nature of the building, structure or
other object to be moved or transported, the means to be employed,
the place from which and to which same is to be moved and the intended
route, together with a bond or other security satisfactory to the
Mayor as to form and amount, which shall be not less than $2,500,
conditioned for the payment of all costs, expenses and damages sustained
by the Village or by any person or property owner by reason of such
moving or transportation, and a certificate of public liability insurance
with policy limits of not less than $50,000 for property damage and
not less than $100,000 for injury to one person and $500,000 for injury
to any number of persons.
No permit shall be effective nor shall any building,
structure or other object having a width of more than 12 feet be moved
or transported into, upon or across any public street in the Village
between the 15th day of June and the 15th day of September during
the hours between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Any person who violates this chapter or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in Article
II of Chapter
1 of the Code of the Village of Southampton.
