No vehicle of any kind and no person, except
for fire apparatus or other emergency vehicles and their personnel,
shall at any time be parked, stopped or standing within the fire line
established by the Fire Department at any building which is on fire
or at a similar emergency call. Any vehicle or person which shall
be parked or standing in violation of this section may be removed
to a safe location and subject to the penalties set forth in this
chapter.
No vehicle of any kind, except fire apparatus
or other emergency vehicle, shall at any time park, stand or stop
in a fire lane or fire zone which is so marked and designated in accordance
with the vehicle and traffic laws. Any vehicle which shall be parked
in violation of this section and may be removed to a safe location
by the Police Department at the request of the Fire Chief/Fire Marshal
and subject to the penalties set forth in this chapter.
No vehicle of any kind not a part of the municipal
fire apparatus shall at any time be driven over a fire hose or other
fire equipment unless directed to do so by fire or police personnel.
Should a vehicle drive over same without prior approval, the operator
shall be subject to the penalties set forth in this chapter.
When a building within the Village of Southampton
is protected by an automatic fire alarm or fire sprinkler system,
or when required by the Fire Marshal, it shall be equipped with a
Knox-Box. The Knox-Box size and location shall be approved by the
Village Fire Marshal.
When a property is protected by a fire suppression,
standpipe or automatic fire alarm or extinguishment system and the
property is secured with a locked fence or gate and where immediate
access to the property is necessary for lifesaving or fire-fighting
purposes, the Village Fire Marshal may require a security padlock
to be installed in a location approved by the Fire Marshal. The padlock
shall be a type and size approved by the Fire Marshal.
