As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
Includes, but is not limited to, the normal description of bicycle
and shall include tricycles, unicycles and similar devices.
A.
It shall be unlawful for any person under 16 years of
age to operate a bicycle, tricycle, unicycle or other similar device in violation
of the established New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law or any Village of
Oxford local law that may pertain to the operation of such devices upon the
roads, highways and public property within the Village of Oxford.
B.
No person over the age of 12 years shall ride a bicycle,
tricycle, unicycle or other similar device on sidewalks in the Village of
Oxford.
C.
No person shall, regardless of age, operate a bicycle
in Village of Oxford parks in or upon the bandstands, pagodas, or fountains.
Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable
by a fine not to exceed $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days,
or both.
This chapter shall become effective immediately upon filing with the
Secretary of State.
