The following agencies of the government of Mount Airy are concerned with the administration of this chapter.
A. 
The Town Council. The Town Council is vested with the following responsibilities with regard to subdivision control:
(1) 
Amendment of the regulations of this chapter when found necessary and desirable.
(2) 
Approval authority over all public improvement (public works) plans and guarantees
B. 
The Town Planning Commission. The Planning Commission shall administer this chapter and, in furtherance of said authority, shall:
(1) 
Maintain permanent and current records of this chapter, including amendments thereto.
(2) 
Initiate appropriate proceedings to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
(3) 
Receive, process and check all plats for compliance with these regulations.
(4) 
Forward copies of the subdivision plat to other town, county, and state offices and agencies for their recommendations and report wherever appropriate.
(5) 
Give preliminary and final approval of all subdivisions submitted.
(6) 
Make all other determinations required by the regulations herein.
