Former Art. VI, Public Health, adopted 2-10-1987 by Ord. No. 1319, as amended, was repealed 6-10-2010 by Ord. No. 3882. This ordinance also provided for the redesignation of former §§ 5-42 through 5-45 as §§ 5-38 through 5-41.
There shall be a Department of Public Works, the head of which shall be the Public Works Manager. He/she shall be appointed by the Township Manager and shall be qualified by training and experience. In absence of the Public Works Manager, he/she may select an Acting Manager to serve.
Within the Department of Public Works, there shall be the following Divisions:
A. 
Public Works.
B. 
Water.
Within the Department of Public Works there shall be a Division of Public Works with the following sections:
A. 
Roads and Stormwater.
B. 
Trees and Signs.
C. 
Solid Waste.
D. 
Building.
E. 
Parks.
F. 
Vehicle Maintenance.
G. 
Open Space.
A. 
Within the Department of Public Works, there shall be a Division of Water Utilities. The Division of Water Utilities shall be under the Public Works Manager. The Division shall have under its employ a New Jersey licensed water operator, who shall preferably also serve in the capacity as the Public Works Manager.
B. 
This Division shall be responsible for the testing of water in accordance with State of New Jersey regulations. Said Division shall further be responsible for the maintenance of the municipal water system, including repairs and replacement of waterlines, fire hydrants, water meters and other such related items. The Division shall also make inspections as required by existing state and local standards.
