Pursuant to the Uniform Fire Safety Act (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-203)
the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code shall be locally enforced in the
Township.
The local enforcing agency shall be the Bureau of Fire Prevention,
which shall consist of the Fire Official and/or the Chief of the Division
of Fire.
The local enforcement agency shall enforce the Uniform Fire
Safety Act and the codes/regulations adopted under it in all buildings,
structures and premises within the established boundaries of the Township,
other than owner-occupied one- and two-family dwellings, and shall
faithfully comply with the requirements of the Uniform Fire Safety
Act and the Uniform Fire Code.
The local enforcing agency established by §
122-2 shall carry out the periodic inspection of life hazard uses required by the Uniform Fire Code on behalf of the Commissioner of Community Affairs.
The local enforcing agency established by §
122-2 shall be a part of the Division of Fire of the Township. The local enforcing agency shall be under the direct supervision/control of the Fire Official and/or Chief of the Division of Fire.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:27D-206 and 52:27D-208 of the Uniform
Fire Safety Act, any person aggrieved by any order of the local enforcement
agency (or agencies) shall have the right to appeal to the Mercer
County Construction Board of Appeals.
Inspections. In addition to the inspections required pursuant to the Uniform Fire Safety Act and the regulations of the Department of Community Affairs, all buildings, structures and uses within the Township of Robbinsville, except for owner-occupied one- and two-family dwelling units and dwelling units within two-family and multifamily dwellings, shall be inspected for compliance with the Uniform Fire Code not less than once per year.
