[Adopted as Sec. 5-9 of the 1976 Revised General Ordinances]
[Amended 9-2-1987 by Ord. No. 1987-22; 6-1-1988 by Ord. No. 1988-12; 12-7-2005 by Ord. No. 2005-25; 8-23-2006 by Ord. No. 2006-012]
For violation of any provision of any chapter of this Code, or any other ordinance of the Township where no specific penalty is provided by statute or regulation regarding the section or sections violated, the maximum penalty, upon conviction, shall be one or more of the following: a fine not exceeding $2,000; imprisonment not exceeding 90 days; or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
Except as otherwise provided, each and every day in which a violation of any provision of this chapter or any other ordinance of the Township exists shall constitute a separate violation.
The maximum penalty stated in the general penalty clause of this article is not intended to state an appropriate penalty for each and every violation. Any lesser penalty, including a nominal penalty or no penalty at all, may be appropriate for a particular case or a particular violation.
