A Planning Commission consisting of seven members is hereby created
and established for the Township of Chestnuthill, Monroe County, Pennsylvania,
pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 201, of the Pennsylvania
Municipalities Planning Code, as established by the Act of July 31, 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247,
as amended and reenacted.
The Planning Commission shall be comprised of seven members who shall
be appointed for terms of office of four years, except that the terms of the
members first appointed pursuant to this chapter shall be so fixed that no
more than two shall be reappointed or replaced during any future calendar
year.
Except for elected or appointed officers or employees of the Township,
members of the Commission may receive compensation in an amount fixed by the Board
of Supervisors. Compensation shall not exceed the rate of compensation authorized
to be paid to members of the Board of Supervisors. Without exception, members
of the Planning Commission may be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable
expenses. However, elected or appointed officers or employees of the Township
shall not, by reason of membership thereon, forfeit the right to exercise
the powers, perform the duties or receive the compensations of the municipal
offices held by them during such membership.
The Planning Commission shall have all the powers and duties conferred
and imposed upon it as set forth in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning
Code, established by the Act of July 31, 1968, P.L. 805, No. 247, as amended
and reenacted.
