As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
SOLID WASTE
Household garbage, wastepaper, cardboard, garden refuse and all other
forms of material usually discarded in the operation of a residence except
the following:
A. Trees, shrubbery or portions thereof.
B. Stones, dirt and other forms of earth.
C. Automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, snowmobiles, lawn
or garden equipment, all-terrain vehicles and all other types of motor- or
manual-driven vehicles or parts of any of the foregoing.
E. Construction or demolition debris and refuse.
G. Recyclables as so designated by any governmental authority.
H. Any other items such as shall in the future be determined
by resolution of the Rhinebeck Village Board.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be liable, upon conviction, to a fine or penalty not exceeding
$250., plus the cost of cleanup for each offense, and each day that a violation
continues shall constitute a separate offense after notice of the existence
of the violation shall be given. In addition thereto, any violation of this
chapter shall constitute disorderly conduct, and every person, firm or corporation
violating the same shall be a disorderly person.
The provisions of "Garbage, Rubbish and Refuse" of the Code of the Village of Rhinebeck, New York, enacted and designated as Chapter
64, are hereby expressly repealed and superseded by this Local Law No. 2 of 1992.
