Pursuant to the authority of and subject to the requirements of N.J.S.A.
40A:9-140.10 et seq., the position of Chief Financial Officer, heretofore
established by the Township Committee, is hereby created, continued and confirmed.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Township Committee.
The term of office shall be four years, which shall run from January 1 in
the year in which the Chief Financial Officer is appointed. Any vacancy in
the office of Chief Financial Officer shall be filled in accordance with the
procedures set forth in the above-cited statute.
The Chief Financial Officer shall:
A. Perform the duties required by New Jersey law as set
forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1(d).
B. Assist the Administrator and Township Committee in the
preparation of the annual budget.
C. Maintain custody of all public funds.
D. Supervise the Finance Department.
E. Perform such other duties consistent with the position
of Chief Financial Officer as may be set forth in a written job description.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be paid in accordance with the annual
Salary Resolution within the guidelines set forth in the Salary Ordinance.
