There is hereby established and created in and for the Township of Cranbury,
in the County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey, a Board of Health to be
known as the "Cranbury Township Board of Health," in accordance with the provisions
of N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq. and with particular reference to the provisions
of Subdivision B, Municipalities Other Than Township, N.J.S.A. 26:3-3 et seq.
The Board of Health may adopt rules, regulations or ordinances for its
government and that of its officers and employees not inconsistent with law
or the State Sanitary Code.
The Cranbury Township Board of Health shall be composed of five members,
to be appointed by the Township Committee in accordance with the provisions
of this chapter, and who shall be invested with all the duties, power and
privileges granted under the laws of New Jersey, including but not limited
to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq.
The term of office for each member of the Board of Health shall be three
years. Upon the establishment and creation of this Board, one member shall
be appointed to serve a one-year term, two members shall be appointed to serve
two-year terms and two members shall be appointed to serve three-year terms.
Upon the expiration of the respective terms, all appointments shall be for
three-year terms.
In the event that any vacancies shall hereafter exist in the Board of
Health, said vacancies shall be filled by resolution of the Township Committee
for the unexpired office so vacated, in the same manner and in accordance
with the same procedure as provided for herein.
The Cranbury Township Board of Health shall administer and enforce all
health ordinances of the Township of Cranbury now in effect, as well as all
applicable provisions of the New Jersey statutes, and shall perform such other
duties as may be required by any statutes of the State of New Jersey or ordinance
of Cranbury Township now in effect or which may hereinafter be enacted.
