There is hereby established in the Borough of
Clementon a Department of Public Works consisting of a Water Division,
Sewer Division and Road Division. The Department of Public Works shall
be under the control and supervision of a Superintendent of the Department
of Public Works.
The Mayor shall nominate, and by and with the
advice and consent of Council, appoint a Superintendent of the Department
of Public Works, who shall be a resident of the Borough of Clementon.

The Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works shall have control and supervision of the Division of Water,
Division of Sewer and Division of Roads. The duties and responsibilities
of the Superintendent of the Department of Public Works shall include,
in addition to other matters designated by the governing body, the
following:
A. The Superintendent shall supervise and assist in the
care and maintenance of all vehicles and equipment in use by the Department
of Public Works.
B. The Superintendent shall ensure that all property,
equipment, supplies, materials, etc., owned or used by the Department
of Public Works are maintained in proper repair.
C. The Superintendent shall be responsible for the maintenance
and repair of the water and sewer systems and all streets and highways
in the Borough of Clementon.
D. The Superintendent shall oversee the duties and responsibilities
of the various employees of the Department of Public Works.
E. The Superintendent shall be responsible for the collection
of all garbage, waste and trash within the Borough and the prompt
and proper disposal thereof.
All persons employed for work on streets, garbage,
waste and ash removal, sanitary drains and waterworks operations shall
be directly under the orders of the Superintendent of the Department
of Public Works, and the said Superintendent shall be responsible
for the use of their time and assignment of their work.

The following positions are hereby established within the Department
of Public Works.
A. Mechanic-Public Works Repairer.
F. Maintenance Worker 1 Grounds/Maintenance Repairer.
G. Public Works Mechanic/Repairer.

The duties and responsibilities of a Mechanic-Public
Works Repairer shall be as follows: The duties for this title are
pursuant to the New Jersey State Department of Personnel and may be
acquired for review by prospective candidates at the Clementon Municipal
Building, 101 Gibbsboro Road, Clementon, New Jersey.
All complaints of any nature covering any of
the above items shall be referred to the Superintendent of the Department
of Public Works.
The Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works shall report and be responsible to the Committee of Borough
Council on Public Works.
The Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works shall serve until December 31 of the year for which he is appointed,
and until his successor is appointed and shall qualify.
The Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works shall receive such salary as may be fixed by the Mayor and Borough
Council by ordinance annually.
