There is hereby designated in the City a public official to be known as the "Building Inspector," who is also designated the "Code Enforcement Officer" as set forth in Chapter
119, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to Council approval, at a compensation to be fixed by it.
The Mayor may appoint one or more Deputy Building Inspectors, who shall be Code Enforcement Personnel as set forth in Chapter
119, as the need may appear, to act under the supervision of the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer and to exercise any portion of his powers and duties. The compensation of such Deputy Building Inspectors shall be fixed by the Mayor, subject to Council approval.
In the absence of the Building Inspector, also known as the "Code Enforcement Officer," as set forth in Chapter
119, or in the case of his inability to act for any reason, the Mayor shall have the power, with the consent of the City Council, to designate a person to act in his behalf and to exercise all of the powers conferred upon him by this chapter and Chapter
119.
The Building Inspector, also known as the "Code
Enforcement Officer," may request and shall receive, so far as may
be necessary in the discharge of his duties, the assistance and cooperation
of the Police and Fire Departments or officers and of all other municipal
officials exercising any jurisdiction over the construction, use or
occupancy of buildings or the installation of equipment therein.

The Building Inspector shall collect administrative
fees for corrections of violations of the Code of ordinances. The
Building Inspector shall collect the following administrative fees
for violations of the Code of ordinances as set forth in the City
of Beacon fee schedule.
