The official name of these regulations shall be the "Land Subdivision
Regulations of the Town of Cato, New York."
These regulations are adopted to secure and provide for:
A. The proper arrangement of new roads in relation to existing
roads.
B. Adequate and convenient open spaces for traffic, utilities,
access of fire-fighting apparatus, recreation, light and air and the avoidance
of congestion of the population.
C. The orderly, efficient and appropriate development of
land.
D. The orderly and efficient provision of community facilities
at minimum cost and maximum convenience.
E. Safe and convenient vehicular and pedestrian movement.
F. The promotion of public health, safety, morals, comfort,
convenience, prosperity or general welfare.
G. The accurate surveying of land and recording of plans.
H. The equitable handling of all subdivision plans by providing
uniform procedures and standards for observance by both the approving authority
and the subdivider.
The Planning Board, Town of Cato, New York, has the authority to review
and approve subdivision plans, including preliminary plans, within the town
limits in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Town Board of the Town
of Cato on May 4, 1965, pursuant to the provisions of Article 16 of the Town
Law, as amended.
