[Amended 3-13-2007 by Ord. No. 2007-02]
It shall be unlawful for any person to set up
for operation, operate, lease or permit others to operate coin-operated
machines without having obtained a business tax receipt for each machine.
Each coin-operated machine located in the City shall require a business
tax receipt. In order to obtain a business tax receipt for a coin-operated
machine, the machine owner or the owner of the premises at which the
machine is to be located shall submit the following information:
A. The name and address and phone number of the owner
of the machine.
B. The address of the premises where the coin-operated
machine is to be operated together with the character of the business
that is operating at that location.
C. The trade name and general description of the machine,
the name of the manufacturer and the serial number of the machine,
and the total number of machines at each proposed location.
D. A description of where each machine is being placed
on the premises adequate for the City to ensure that handicapped accessibility
and/or life-safety violations are not being created by the placement
of said machines.
[Amended 3-13-2007 by Ord. No. 2007-02]
Prior to allowing a coin-operated machine to
be installed, the owner or occupant of the premises at which the coin-operated
machine is to be operated shall ensure that the coin-operated machine
has a valid local business tax receipt. If the owner of the machine
has not obtained a business tax receipt for said machine, it shall
be the responsibility of the business owner where the machine is located
or, in the case of residential properties, the property owner, to
pay for and obtain the business tax receipt. The replacement of one
coin-operated machine for another shall require a written notification
to the City of the serial number of the machine being removed and
the serial number of the replacement. No additional fee shall be
charged provided the machines are of like kind and the machine that
has the original tax receipt is being removed from the City.
