Unless another penalty is expressly provided
by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of a violation of a
provision of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable
to a penalty of not more than $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding
15 days, or both.
In addition thereto, any vehicle parked or standing
in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or any supplements
thereto shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper
regulation of traffic and may, where the existing parking regulation
signing exists and a posting is contained thereon that violation subjects
the vehicle to tow away and upon order or direction of the Police
Department of the Borough or any of its members, be towed or otherwise
removed to a location established by the Police Department or the
Mayor and Council by resolution. The owner of the vehicle shall pay
the reasonable costs incurred for the removal and storage of the vehicle
before regaining possession of same.
