in charge of any animal which has attacked or bitten any person or
other animal to confine such animal at the expense of the owner or
the person in charge of such animal for at least 10 days after the
bite or attack.
The animal shall not be released until proof of a
licensed veterinarian's examination of the animal is furnished to
the Health Officer, who shall countersign the release certificate
immediately following the ten-day quarantine period.
Failure to provide the Health Department with the
quarantine release form signed by the veterinarian within 24 hours
of the end of the quarantine period will result in the issuance of
a summons with fines up to a maximum of $1,000 per day.
