A. 
Except for vehicles displaying valid Board of Education permits issued pursuant to § 228-2 below, no person shall park a vehicle for longer than two hours upon any of the following posted streets on weekdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.:

All other ordinances regulating parking on the streets listed in Subsection A shall apply except during the days and hours specified herein.
C. 
Any person violating any of the above provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine and other penalties in accordance with the violation and penalties section of Chapter 327 of the Township Code.
A. 
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 228-1, any vehicle displaying a valid Board of Education parking permit issued in accordance with this article shall be entitled to park on the streets listed in § 228-1A between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on any weekday when Montclair High School is open.
B. 
The Township is hereby authorized to issue parking permits to full-time employees of the Montclair Board of Education, at no cost, in accordance with regulations adopted and administered by the Montclair Board of Education. Any vehicle displaying a valid Board of Education parking permit shall be allowed to park in the posted permit parking areas in the locations set forth in § 228-1A on the days and during the hours set forth in Subsection A above. Such parking shall be subject to all general restrictions and regulations of the Township of Montclair and the State of New Jersey.

C. 
Removal and storage of vehicles; costs for recovery. Any vehicle parked in violation of any of the provisions of this article may be removed by order of the Chief of Police or authorized officer of the Township of Montclair Police Department to a place designated by the Township of Montclair for the storing of said vehicle. Said vehicle shall be impounded and held at said designated storage place until the owner thereof shall pay to the authorized municipal towing operator the cost of vehicle removal and storage for each day or part thereof that said vehicle is impounded.
D. 
Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine and other penalties in accordance with the violation and penalties section of Chapter 230 of the Code of the Township of Montclair.

A. 
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 228-3, any Montclair High School student possessing a valid student parking permit issued in accordance with this article shall be allowed to park in the locations specified in § 228-3A between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on any weekday when Montclair High School is open.
B. 
Student parking permits shall be issued by the Township in accordance with priority lists and other regulations adopted by the Board of Education, upon the completion of a permit application and production of a valid high school student identification card and valid driver's license. Permits shall be issued on a semiannual basis for the following periods and upon payment of the fees set forth below:

September through December: $90.
(2) 
January through June: $90.
C. 
All other ordinances regulating parking on the streets listed in Subsection A shall apply except during the days and hours specified herein.
D. 
The issuance of any student parking permit shall not constitute a guaranty that a parking space will be available for the designated motor vehicle.
E. 
Student parking permits shall be displayed in accordance with written instructions provided by the Township at the time the permit is issued.

F. 
Any person violating any of the above provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine in accordance with the violation and penalties section of Chapter 327 of the Code of the Township of Montclair.[1]

Editor's Note: Former § 228-5, Delegation of authority to Montclair Parking Authority, which immediately followed this section, was repealed 12-18-2012 by Ord. No. O-12-66. This ordinance also provided that "Any and all authority, duties, powers, responsibilities and discretion delegated or assigned to the Montclair Parking Authority by this chapter shall cease as of the dissolution of the Authority and shall thereafter be exercised by the Township. All permits, decals, and rental or lease agreements for parking spaces duly issued by the Montclair Parking Authority shall continue to be valid until the date of expiration. All provisions of Chapter 228 not expressly modified by this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect except where rendered meaningless by the dissolution of the Montclair Parking Authority."
