No person shall park any commercial vehicle,
including a taxicab, livery, limousine, truck, van, trailer, or camper,
on any private driveway, public highway, private road or private property
within the corporate limits of the Village of Atlantic Beach at any
time.

A. Except as provided for in statute or other regulations, inoperative
or unlicensed motor vehicles shall not be parked, kept or stored on
any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of major
disassembly or disrepair or in the process of being stropped or dismantled.
Painting of vehicles is prohibited unless conducted inside an approved
spray booth.

B. Exception: A vehicle of any type is permitted to undergo
major overhaul, including body work, provided that such work is performed
inside a structure or similarly enclosed area designed and approved
for such purposes.
After such removal, said Mayor or member of
the Board of Trustees, Police Commissioner, Village Clerk, Police
Officer or any employee of the Police Department of Nassau County,
New York, may cause such vehicle to be stored in a suitable place
at the expense of the owner. Such owner or person in charge of said
vehicle may redeem the same upon payment to the Incorporated Village
of Atlantic Beach of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily
incurred in effecting such removal, at the prevailing rate, together
with any charge for storage, such storage charge not to exceed the
prevailing rate.

Said Mayor, member of the Board of Trustees,
Police Commissioner, Village Clerk, Police Officer or any employee
of the Police Department of Nassau County shall, without delay, report
the removal and disposition of such vehicle to the Village Clerk,
and said Village Clerk shall make reasonable effort to ascertain the
owner of such vehicle or person having same in charge, and to notify
such person of the removal and disposition of such vehicle and of
the amount of the redemption charges.

Any person who shall park a vehicle, found unattended
or abandoned on any public highway or public place within the Village
of Atlantic Beach during a snow storm, flood, serious fire or other
public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway
or public place upon which said vehicle is located, or when any vehicle
is parked or found unattended or abandoned at a place where stopping,
standing or parking of vehicles is prohibited, shall be punished by
and subject to a fine as set forth in § 1224, Subdivision
7(a), of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
