A. 
A violation of the provisions of Articles III to VII, inclusive, and Article XII of this chapter is an offense, and each such violation may be punished by a fine of not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment not exceeding 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. In lieu of or in addition to such fine or imprisonment, or both, each such violation shall be subject to a civil penalty not exceeding $250 for any one case, to be recovered in an action or proceeding brought by the Attorney of the Village of Colonie in a court of competent jurisdiction. Each day of a continuing violation shall be subject to a separate such fine, imprisonment or civil penalty.
B. 
The Village Attorney may maintain an action or proceeding in the name of the Village of Colonie in a court of competent jurisdiction to compel compliance with this chapter or to restrain by injunction any violation of this chapter, notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A hereof for a penalty or other punishment.
C. 
Where any violation of this chapter causes expense to the Village of Colonie, such violation may also be punished by a civil suit against the violator, brought by the Attorney of the Village of Colonie in the name of the Village of Colonie in a court of competent jurisdiction, to recover such additional cost.
