Membership is made up of five classes: active,
exempt, honorary, civil and life member. No new active members shall
be voted upon unless the number of active members shall be less than
the quota determined by the membership.

Junior members will be overseen by one civil
and one firematic officer. To qualify for a junior membership, a person
must be between the ages of 16 and 18. An application must be signed
by a parent or guardian accompanied by an application fee of $15.
Junior members will not be given a key. Junior members will be allowed
in the firehouse only when a senior member is present and must leave
before restricted hours, unless authorized by an officer. Restricted
hours will be 9:00 p.m. on a school night or 11:00 p.m. on weekends
and nights when school is not in session the next day. Junior members
will not respond to fires during school hours. Junior members will
be required to meet the number of drills, fires (although shall not
enter into any burning structure for any reason) and meetings in accordance
with the Service Award Program. All other requirements will be the
same as senior active members. Junior members must present their latest
report card at review and must maintain an overall C average. A junior
member is considered on probation until turning 18 years of age and
will not be permitted to vote. At the age of 18, junior members must
be voted into active membership at the monthly meeting. If a junior
member has served at least one year in good standing in junior membership,
the probationary period will be waived. At no time will a junior member
be allowed to handle or consume alcoholic beverages. Junior members
shall not go into a burning building or it will be a case for immediate
dismissal. A junior member applicant's parent/guardian must sign the
book when the junior member does.
An honorary member is a person who has made
a major contribution for the betterment of the Mombasha Fire Company,
Inc., or our community. Any person residing anywhere may become an
honorary member by a vote similar to that required to elect an active
member. He/she shall enjoy all privileges of attending the annual
dinner, meetings and other social functions.

An active member who has faithfully performed
service in the protection of life and property within the territory
immediately protected by this Company for 20 active years becomes
a life member fireman. Any fireman so named shall be a paid-in-full
active member. He/she is entitled to any and all privileges of an
active member at no cost and having no yearly compulsory requirements.
