The provisions of the New York State Labor Law
and the rules adopted thereunder by the Industrial Commissioner of
the State of New York, relating to public safety in the construction,
equipping and maintenance of places of public assembly, shall be enforced
by the Building Inspector.[1]

Pursuant to § 472 of the Labor Law, the Village filed a
duly certified copy of a resolution (adopted 6-4-1962 by the Board
of Trustees) with the Industrial Commissioner of the State of New
York, assuming full responsibility for enforcing the provisions of
Article 17 of the Labor Law ("State Standard Building Code") and the
rules adopted thereunder. This invested the Village with all the powers
of the Industrial Commissioner in enforcing the provisions of Article
17 of the Labor Law and the rules adopted thereunder.
