Pursuant to C.G.S. § 8-216b, the Housing Authority of the
Town of Farmington is designated as a Housing Site Development Agency within
the Town.
The Housing Authority of the Town of Farmington shall have all the powers
set forth in C.G.S. § 8-216b, as said statute may be amended, to
include the following:
A. To engage in all services reasonably related to the acquisition,
construction, maintenance, operation, sale and lease of facilities and property
associated with a housing and community development project.
B. To research and prepare for submission and submit to
federal and state agencies applications and data to obtain financial assistance
and to receive and utilize such financial assistance for carrying out a housing
and community development project.
C. To plan, finance and provide technical and other assistance
to promote the development of dwelling units within the Town for low- and
moderate-income persons, elderly persons or disadvantaged persons.
D. To provide financing for rehabilitation of housing and
facilities and to provide technical and other assistance to promote conservation
of the Town's housing stock.
E. To initiate and undertake appropriate activities under
federal or state housing and community development grant programs.
F. To undertake and manage affordable housing programs and
cooperative ownership programs within the Town.
