[Adopted effective 5-1-1974]
Pursuant to the provisions of Public Act No. 73-571 of the 1973 Session of the Connecticut General Assembly, the Conservation Commission of the Town of Ellington is hereby designated as the Inland Wetlands Agency as provided for by Public Act 73-571.[1]

The Conservation Commission, acting as the Inland Wetlands Agency, is authorized to promulgate such regulations, in conformity with the regulations promulgated by the Commissioner of Environmental Protection pursuant to § 22a-39 of the General Statutes (Revision of 1958), as amended, as are necessary to protect the wetlands and watercourses within the territorial limits of the Town of Ellington.[1]

The Conservation Commission, acting as the Inland Wetlands Agency, shall implement and administer the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act (§§ 22a-36 to 22a-45, inclusive, of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended).
The Conservation Commission, acting as the Inland Wetlands Agency, shall serve as the sole agent for the licensing of regulated activities as provided for by § 3 of Public Act No. 73-571.[1]
