The office of Borough Administrator of the Borough
of Eatontown is hereby created and shall be hereafter designated as
"office of the Borough Administrator to the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Eatontown," and the appointee to said office shall hereafter
be designated as "Borough Administrator."

The Borough Administrator shall be appointed
by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council by majority
vote and shall hold office at the pleasure of the governing body.
The Administrator shall be removed only by a two-thirds vote of the
Borough Council. The resolution of removal shall become effective
three months after its adoption by the Borough Council. The governing
body may provide that the resolution shall have immediate effect;
provided, however, that the governing body shall cause to be paid
to the Administrator forthwith any unpaid balance of his or her salary
for the next three calendar months following adoption of the resolution.
The Administrator shall be chosen by the governing body on the basis
of his or her executive and administrative qualifications with specific
reference to his or her actual training and/or experience in governmental
affairs. At the time of his or her appointment, the Administrator
need not be a resident of the Borough of Eatontown.
The salary of the Borough Administrator shall
be as set forth in the Salary Ordinance for the Borough of Eatontown.

The following activities shall report directly
to the Borough Administrator:
A. Director of Department of Finance.
B. Director of Department of Construction and Code Enforcement.
C. Director of Department of Public Works.
D. Director of Department of Recreation and Community
Services.
E. Director of Department of Emergency Services.
F. Municipal Court Administrator.
I. Division Managers in the Department of Administration.
Nothing herein contained shall derogate from
or authorize the Borough Administrator to the Mayor and Council to
exercise the powers and duties of any elected official of the Borough
of Eatontown and the boards, bodies and commissions thereof established
pursuant to law.
The ordinance creating the office of Administrative
Assistant of the Borough of Eatontown dated February 1, 1965, as amended,
is hereby rescinded and the within ordinance is substituted therefor.
