No person shall make a turn of the kind designated (left, right, all) at any of the locations described in Schedule III (§
196-31) during the hours indicated of any day.

A. No person shall operate a motor vehicle in disregard of or disobedience to a traffic control signal, or in the wrong direction on a one-way roadway, or in disregard of or disobedience to a stop sign or yield sign, or in excess of a speed limit or otherwise in violation of any traffic rule or regulation as provided in this chapter. Any person who commits any such violation shall be guilty of an offense and shall be punished as provided in §
196-25 of this chapter.
B. Except where necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic, or when in compliance with law or the directions of a police
officer or official traffic control device, no person shall stand
or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momentarily to
pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers, in front of a public
driveway, crosswalk or fire lane.

C. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within
15 feet of a fire hydrant except when such vehicle is attended by
a licensed operator or chauffeur who is seated in the front seat and
who can immediately move such vehicle in case of emergency, unless
a different distance is indicated by official signs, markings or parking
meters.
D. Except where necessary to avoid conflict with other
traffic, or when in compliance with law or the directions of a police
officer or official traffic control device, no person shall stop,
stand or park a vehicle on the roadway side of any vehicle stopped,
standing or parked at the edge or curb of a street.
E. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any
area designated as a place for handicapped parking in accordance with
the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New
York, unless the vehicle bears a permit issued under § 1203-a
of such law, or a registration issued under § 404-a of such
law, and such vehicle is being used for the transportation of a severely
disabled or handicapped person. This subsection shall not apply to
a violation of § 1203-c of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of
the State of New York.
F. Except where angle parking is authorized, no person
shall stop, stand or park a vehicle upon a two-way roadway, except
with the right-hand wheels of such vehicle parallel to and within
12 inches of the right-hand curb or edge of such roadway and facing
in the direction of authorized traffic movement on that portion of
the roadway on which the vehicle rests.

G. Except where angle parking is authorized, no person
shall stop, stand or park a vehicle upon a one-way roadway, except
parallel to and within 12 inches of the curb or edge of such roadway
and facing in the direction of authorized traffic movement on that
portion of the roadway on which the vehicle rests.

H. No person shall park, stop or stand a vehicle in whole
or in part upon any curb or upon any area other than the paved area
of such roadway or other area specifically designated for parking
of vehicles.

I. No person
shall park any unregistered motor vehicle or trailer on any public
street, road or highway in the Village of Thomaston.
