For the purpose of this chapter, the Village
of Thomaston is hereby divided into districts, which are hereby designated
as follows:

A. The boundaries of zoning districts in the Village
of Thomaston are hereby established as shown upon the Zoning Map entitled
"Zoning Map of the Village of Thomaston," prepared by RPPW, Inc.,
which map is hereby adopted pursuant to the powers granted to the
Board of Trustees of the Village of Thomaston pursuant to the Village
Law. Said map, together with the notations, references and other matters
shown thereon, is hereby declared to be a part of this chapter as
much as if set forth herein in full, and said map shall remain on
file in the office of the Village Clerk.

B. No building shall be erected, altered or used and
no premises shall be used for any other than a purpose permitted in
the district in which such building shall be erected, altered or used
or such premises used, except in conformity with the regulations herein
prescribed for the district in which such building or premises is
located.
If any district boundary is a street line or
is determined, measured or fixed by or from a street line and such
street shall be widened and such new width has been duly authorized
and recorded on a duly filed map, then anything in this chapter to
the contrary notwithstanding, the district boundary shall not be determined,
measured or fixed by or from the new street line, but the rear district
boundary shall remain as theretofore, and the depth and extent of
the district shall be shortened and lessened accordingly.
In any particular instance where there is doubt as to the exact location of a district boundary line, the Board of Appeals, in conformity with Article
XVII, §
203-139A(3), of this chapter, shall have the power to interpret such location so that the intent of this chapter and said maps shall be observed and the neighborhoods affected thereby shall be safeguarded.
