The Village Manager shall act as purchasing
agent for all Village departments.
The Village Manager or, in his absence, the
Assistant Village Manager shall authorize the purchase of materials
or equipment and the contracting for services necessary for Village
operation when the encumbrance in the Village treasury does not exceed
$15,000 and when such purchase of materials and contracting for services
have been covered in the current Village budget.

A. All contracts for public construction in the Village
of Shorewood exceeding $25,000 may be let by the Village Board to
the lowest responsible bidder in accordance with § 66.0901,
Wis. Stats., insofar as said section may be applicable, and subject
to the terms, conditions and exceptions set forth in §§ 61.54,
61.55 and 61.56, Wis. Stats.
B. As an alternate method, contracts for public construction
exceeding $25,000 shall be let by the Village Board in accordance
with the provisions of § 62.15, Wis. Stats.
C. If the estimated cost of any public construction exceeds
$5,000 but is not greater than $25,000, the Village Board shall give
a Class 1 notice, under Ch. 985, Wis. Stats., of the proposed construction
before the contract for the construction is executed.
