No curb boxes, water boxes, gas boxes or pipes
shall be placed, kept, maintained or allowed to stand or remain in
the sidewalks of the City of Amsterdam unless the same shall be on
a level with the surface of the sidewalk in which the same is placed.
Whenever any person or persons shall hereafter
place curb boxes, gas boxes or water boxes in any of the sidewalks
of the City of Amsterdam, the same shall be placed not more than four
inches from the curbstone.
The owner or owners of any lot or lots in the City of Amsterdam who shall place, keep, maintain or allow to stand or remain any curb box, water box, gas box or pipe in front of their premises in violation of §§ 206-8 or 206-9 of this article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and no notice to remove or lower the same shall be necessary.
