If any cattle, horses, mules, sheep or hogs
shall be found running at large in the streets, lanes or alleys of
the borough, it shall be the duty of the Police Department of the
Borough to seize and confine such animal or animals.
Upon the seizure of an animal or animals designated in §
69-1, the Police Department shall cause a notice to be published one time in a newspaper of general circulation in the borough giving a description of the animal or animals and giving notice that unless redeemed by the owner before a date specified, which date shall be at least one week after the date of publication, the animal or animals shall be disposed of at public sale.
Prior to the date specified for public sale,
the owner of an animal seized under the provision of this article
may redeem such animal by paying to the Police Department a redemption
fee of $25 for each animal seized, plus a fee of $25 for each animal
for each day or part of a day that the animal was confined after seizure.
