A. 
Every owner of a house or building, commercial or residential, shall place, or cause to be placed, a street number sign on or around such structure in accordance with the provisions of this section.
B. 
All lots and houses on the south and west sides of all streets within the Village shall be numbered with odd numbers and lots and houses on the north and east side of all streets within the Village shall be numbered with even numbers. Numbers shall advance in ascending order from an easterly to westerly and/or southerly to northerly direction(s). Where a building has more than one door serving separate occupants, a separate number shall be assigned to each occupant's door; provided, however, that if entrances are not more than 10 feet apart, the next consecutive number shall be marked fractionally or use the suffix "A," "B," "C," etc. as may be required. Buildings fronting on two or more streets shall have a sequential number assigned only to the main entrance, unless other entrances serve different occupants. Where only one number can be assigned to a house or building, the owner, occupant, or agent of the house or building desiring distinctive numbers for the upper and lower portion of the house or building, or for any part of the house or building fronting on any street, shall use the suffix "A," "B," "C," etc. as may be required.
C. 
The Village Clerk, in consultation with the Zoning Administrator, shall be responsible for determining, in the Clerk's reasonable discretion, the proper street number for every lot or property within the Village.
D. 
The numerals used shall be at least 2 1/2 inches in height. The number sign shall be conspicuously placed so that the numbers are easily visible and legible from the nearest public right-of-way or private drive as defined in § 243-8C of this Code.
E. 
The cost of the numbers, and any needed replacements, shall be paid for by the property owner.
