Any person or entity that commits a violation of this chapter
shall be guilty of an offense and shall be punishable in the manner
set forth below:
A. First offense. For conviction of a first offense the imposition of
a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not to exceed 30 days, or
both.
B. Second and subsequent offenses. For conviction of a second or subsequent
offense within 18 months, the imposition of a fine not exceeding $1,000
or imprisonment not to exceed six months, or both.
C. Continuing violations. After the date on which the Town Building
Inspector, Ordinance Enforcement Officer, Fire Marshal or other responsible
town officer shall have notified the applicant of any such violation,
each week's continued violation shall constitute a separate and
additional offense for all purposes hereof.

D. Action by the town. In addition to the above provided penalties,
the town may maintain an action or proceeding in the name of the town
in a court of competent jurisdiction to compel compliance with or
to restrain by injunction the violation of this Chapter of the Code.
All penalties and provisions contained herein are in addition
to and are in no way a contradiction to, or modification of, any other
provisions of any laws, rules or regulations applicable thereto.
The provisions of this local law are severable. If any provision
of this local law or its application to any person or circumstances
is held invalid, said invalidity shall not affect any other provision
or application of this local law which can be given effect without
the invalid provision or application of the local law.
