[Amended 12-23-2008]
Parking spaces designated as reserved under the provisions of § 266-145 shall be identified by the use of above-grade signs which shall be located at a height not less than five feet nor more than eight feet to the top of the sign. All such signs shall consist of white lettering against a blue background and shall bear the words "Handicapped Parking: Special Plate or Placard Required. Unauthorized Vehicles May Be Removed at Owner's Expense." Handicapped parking spaces shall be as near as possible to a building entrance or walkway; shall be adjacent to curb ramps or other unobstructed methods permitting sidewalk access to a handicapped person; and shall be 12 feet wide, or the handicapped spaces shall be provided in pairs of eight-foot spaces, separated by a four-foot center aisle which is painted or striped yellow.
