The Mayor shall see that the laws of the state and the ordinances of the Borough are faithfully executed and shall recommend to the Council such measures as he may deem necessary or expedient for the welfare of the Borough. He shall maintain peace and good order and have power to suppress riots and tumultuous assemblies in the Borough.

Any fee for service rendered by the Mayor or for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses to him/her for performing ceremonies to solemnize marriages and civil unions shall be disbursed through the elected officials salary line item pursuant to the salary ordinance or schedule for mileage or other direct costs incurred by him/her after appropriate authorization by the governing body. The Mayor may waive any fees or reimbursement to which he/she may be entitled at his/her sole discretion.
