The purpose of this chapter is to preserve and
maintain the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Incorporated
Village of Lake Grove.
This chapter shall apply to the following premises:
A. Lots, plots or parcels of land which are vacant or
upon which are buildings used for dwellings, mixed occupancy, commercial,
industrial or storage uses, garages or barns, whether occupied or
vacant.
B. Residential buildings and any structure vacant or
occupied.
The provisions of this chapter shall supplement
local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations enacted or promulgated
prior or subsequent to the enactment of this chapter. Where a provision
of this chapter is found to be in conflict with any provisions of
a local law, ordinance, rule or regulation, the provision or requirement
which is the more restrictive or which establishes the higher standard
shall prevail.
The Village Board or its designated representative
shall be authorized to make or cause to be made inspections to determine
the conditions of dwellings, lots, buildings, vacant lands, storage
buildings and accessory structures in order to safeguard the health,
safety, morals and welfare of the public. The village inspectors,
so authorized, shall have the power to enter at reasonable times upon
any private property for the purpose of inspecting conditions relating
to the enforcement of the provisions of this chapter.
