A. 
A certificate of liability and workers' compensation insurance satisfactory to the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division shall be filed with the Division prior to the start of construction. All of the contractor's insurance coverage containing clause indemnifying and saving harmless the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division, their agents, servants and employees, from any liability of whatever nature arising from the work to be performed under the contract, including attorney's fees and costs in connection with the defense of such claims. The certificate of insurance furnished by the contractor shall state specifically that the above indemnification is guaranteed by the policy and shall be shown therefor.

B. 
The minimum amounts of insurance to be carried by the contractor shall be as follows:
(1) 
Workmen's compensation and employer's liability insurance. The contractor shall take out and maintain during the life of this contract adequate workmen's compensation and employer's liability insurance for all employees employed in connection with the work. In a case where work is sublet by the contractor, the prime contractor shall require each subcontractor to provide similar workmen's compensation and employer's liability insurance for the latter's employees, unless such employees are covered by the protection afforded by the contract. Employer's liability insurance shall have limits of not less than $500,000 per claimant and $1,000,000 per accident per claim.
(2) 
Public personal injury liability and property damage liability, including contingent liability and contractual liability:
(a) 
One person in any one occurrence: $500,000.
(b) 
Two or more persons in any one occurrence: $1,000,000.
(c) 
Property damage in any accident: $500,000.
(d) 
Aggregate property damage limit: $1,000,000.
(3) 
Automobile liability insurance:
(a) 
One person in any one accident: $500,000.
(b) 
Two or more persons in any one accident: $1,000,000.
(c) 
Property damage in any one accident: $500,000.
C. 
Property damage insurance shall be extended to cover damage to underground wires, pipes, ducts, conduits, structures, etc., and further to cover explosion damage and damage due to collapse. A certificate endorsed by the insurance company shall be furnished stating that said company will notify the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division 10 days in advance of the cancellation effective date.
D. 
The policies shall remain in full force until all work has been completed.
E. 
The following clause shall be included on all insurance forms: "The contractor agrees to indemnify and save and hold harmless the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division (GTMUD), its Consulting Engineer and their employees, officers and agents from all claims related to labor or materials furnished for the work or in performing the work, as to the injuries or damages to any person or corporation received or sustained as the result of the act of the contractor or his employees in doing the work or in consequence of any improper materials, implements or labor used therein or resulting from omissions or neglect of the contractor and/or his employees therein."
A. 
All sewers must be designed on a separate-system basis in which all water from roofs, cellars, streets and any other areas must not be conducted to the sanitary sewer system. No bypasses or overflows which allow raw sewage to be discharged from sewers shall be installed.
B. 
Materials used in the construction of sewers and force mains shall be as follows:

(1) 
Gravity sewers shall be constructed of PVC or ductile iron pipe.
(2) 
Force mains shall be constructed of ductile iron unless permitted otherwise by the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division.
C. 
Testing of completed systems.

(1) 
All sewer lines must be jetted and videoed in the presence of a representative prior to final acceptance.
(2) 
All sewers shall be subject to either an infiltration, exfiltration and/or pressure test. Exfiltration tests shall be conducted in lieu of infiltration tests when the pipe has been laid above the groundwater level. The tests shall be performed between two manholes or as otherwise directed by the Galloway Township Municipal Utilities Division Engineer and shall include all related sewerage, including house connections.
(3) 
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the testing.
(4) 
Exfiltration tests shall be made under at least a four-foot head of water or a pressure equal to the depth of the lower manhole of the section under the test.
(5) 
Allowable infiltration or exfiltration shall not exceed a rate of 50 gallons per mile per inch of diameter of sewer per 24 hours.
(6) 
In order to ensure that there shall be no gushing or spurting streams entering the sewer, the contractor shall repair same and further be held responsible for watertightness of the line and shall satisfactorily repair all joints and other parts not sufficiently watertight and then shall make additional tests of the infiltration or exfiltration until the test results conform to the requirements given herein.
(7) 
When individual or house connections are connected to sewer mains already tested, the individual or house connections shall be pressure tested prior to connection to the sewer main. Individual or house connections shall be pressure tested under a ten-foot head of water and shall be made tight from the point of connection at the main to the lowest cleanout in the building.
