The office of Management of Information Services
is hereby created in the Borough of Paramus by and subject to the
provisions of this chapter.
The Director, Management of Information Services,
shall receive such compensation as fixed by the Mayor and Council
from time to time.
A.
General duties. The Director, Management of Information
Services, shall manage the day-to-day requests made for the Borough
systems, excluding the Police Department. Matters are to include requests
for hardware and software updates, network resolutions, and help desk
duties. All project support as deemed by the Mayor and Council.
B.
Responsibilities. The Director, Management of Information
Services, shall:
(1)
Coordinate the maintenance of Borough's personal computers
and components and make recommendations for equipment and software
that needs to purchased.
(2)
Develop data records, layouts, input forms, testing
schemes, and test data to ensure accurate and comprehensive results.
(3)
Assist in the capacity of help desk technician in
order to resolve issues on a day-to-day basis without the assistance
of computer operations personnel.
(4)
Provide access to software and hardware training for
all Borough employees in need of such education.
(5)
Troubleshoot technical hardware and software issues,
as well as providing on-site and off-site support.
(6)
Coordinate all purchases with the approval of the
Borough Administrator and Mayor and Council members.
